Ashes can be interred in an existing earth grave or in one of our many specifically designed areas detailed below.

Memorial Garden Woden

Memorial Gardens

These areas are specifically designed for the placement of ashes. Memorial Gardens are located in Gungahlin and Woden Cemeteries. Ashes can be placed in the shrub beds or scattered in landscaped areas within the grounds. The plaque is placed on a raised beam in front of the shrub beds.

An Ashes Garden is also available at Hall where the plaque is placed on the surrounding stone wall.

Woden Liquidambar Lane

Liquidambar Lane

Opened in August 2013, this beautiful garden consists of granite receptacles designed for the placement of ashes.  The ashes are interred inside the granite and are sealed with the bronze memorial plaque.

Gungahlin Wall of Remembrance

Wall of Remembrance

The Wall of Remembrance is an impressive undercover structure which allows the placing of a plaque on a granite wall. The ashes may be placed in a vandal proof underground vault, in a small capsule behind the plaque or in a garden bed.

Rock Garden

Memorial Rock Garden

Areas are provided for interment of ashes and/or the placement of a plaque on a rock. Many locations are available for the placement of rocks, subject to some conditions. For more information please contact the office.

Gungahlin Memorial Trees

Memorial Tree and Plaque

The bases of trees are offered for the placement of memorial plaques. In general this will consist of a granite block at ground level, the plaque flush with the granite block. These may be purchased individually or in multiples.

Dedication Seat

Dedication Seat

A Dedication Seat is a perpetual memorial featuring a personalised plaque. Positioned throughout the cemetery in sheltered positions, with landscaped surrounds, this memorial will be a focus of remembrance for generations. Payment includes a contribution to maintenance of the seat in perpetuity.

Woden Garden of Remembrance

Garden of Remembrance

Opened in November 2005, this garden consists of walls containing plaques to remember those fallen as a result of war. A memorial index is located on-site.

Tree Plaque

Plaques and Urns

Within the limitation of each burial option there are many variations and enhancements available for plaques. These options include style, colour, motifs, photographs and mounting blocks.
